Elephant Carousel Figural Vanity Powder Jar in Satin Green Depression Glass. The Elephant Carousel powder jar is referenced on pages 14-15 in Whitmyer’s Bedroom & Bathroom Glassware of the Depression Years. These jars were made by the LE Smith Company during the Art Deco and Depression period. (reference Margaret Whitmyer)
The lid of the puff box has a figural an elephant, trunk down, on a pad with six spokes radiating outwards. The unusual base, supported by twelve feet, has a surround of six elephants parading around the jar.
