Cowan Pottery Chick ashtray #768 in pink glaze. 

This ceramic pink glazed  chick ashtray #768 is from the Party Favors selection by Cowan Pottery. The Party Favors were small and unusual ashtray and/or nut cup shapes, usually in pastel colors, were often used as bridge or party favors for guests, or for household use. Made in the mid-twenties, all markings on molded wares were impressed marks. These were the words “COWAN” or “LAKEWARE” or a distinctive mark incorporating Cowan’s initials and his last name. This specific piece is Marked with a die-impressed circular Cowan mark (Saloff #8).

There is a small rough spot to the glaze at the very base of this piece which is a factory glaze flaw. 3 3/8″ tall.  In Amazing condition. No knicks, dings or cracks.
